Bolivia
is a land locked nation in the heart of the
Andes Mountains, a country of powerful
contradictions. These are eloquently expressed
on the facial expressions of visitors, whose
first impressions are always of astonishment and
disbelief. Every part of the country has a
unique and peculiar wilderness; many areas
surreal and dreamlike. Certain landscapes are
reminiscent of Nepal, Ladakh and Tibet, and the
small mountain villages seem to still live in
antiquity.
The reality of the large
cities, such as La Paz, is centuries ahead of
those in the countryside, even along the
highland plateau (Altiplano) there are polar
contrasts in the landscape and societies of
northern and southern regions. Bolivia has kept
secret many of its natural wonders. For the eyes
of westerners, Bolivia offers an endless dream
of immense greatness and solitude. Found in the
heart of the continent and lost in the most
profound reaches of the universe. Bolivia goes
beyond the constraints of rationality. And this
is why, in Bolivia, adventure is still very much
alive. Yes! Adventure is still possible.
If you would like to take part in a
Bolivian adventure, Cracking Days Out has over
14 years experience of trekking in the Altiplano
region as well organising jungle tours in Los
Yungas. We can offer climbing expeditions in the
Andes or sightseeing tours around La Paz and
Lake Titikaka. Here at Cracking Days Out we are
