The Everest North Ridge Expedition

In early April 2007 Steve Berry of CDO and friend Gary Parker left Britain for Tibet via Kathmandu in Nepal, where they planned to make an ascent of Mt. Everest via the North Ridge to the summit at 8848 metres. They were supported by two highly experienced high altitude Sherpas. The North Ridge of Everest runs up from the North Col. Everything to the west of the North Ridge is the North Face, and drains down into the Central Rongbuk Glacier. Everything to the east of the North Ridge flows down into the East Rongbuk Glacier. These ultimately join north of Changtse, several miles above Rongbuk Base Camp.
